The Ideal Perennial Vegetables To Grow

Most vegetables wont grow all year round, and need to be re-planted each season. Basically instead of harvesting a few plants, let them continue to grow and they’ll produce seed for the next season. But if you prefer to just plant vegetables and forget about them until you want food, you’ll appreciate perennial vegetables. These are vegetables that just keep growing and don’t need to be re-planted each season.

Chives

These will grow almost anywhere and should be used between other vegetables to ward off pests. They dont need re-planting. In fact, they’ll likely spread until you remove them fully.

 Sea Kale

Kale is notoriously healthy, and this variety is perennial. The only downside is it grows slowly. See how to grow sea kale.

 Warrigal Spinach (Warrigal greens)

This is an Australian variety of spinach that will continue to grow by self-seeding. It is drought and light frost resistant.

Rhubarb

Easy to grow, but you eat the stalk only as the leaves are toxic.
